The Kavrepalanchok District Security Committee has decided to restrict the operation of passenger vehicles on the BP Highway from 6:30 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. until the end of Bhadra (mid-September).
According to Chief District Officer Umesh Kumar Dhakal, the move comes in light of last year’s monsoon damage, the fragile geographical condition of the road, and the continued risks posed by this year’s monsoon.
As a result, both private and public vehicles heading towards Sindhuli via Kavrebhanjyang–Bhakundebesi have been barred from nighttime operation.
The committee particularly identified the Kavrebhanjyang–Khukot section of the highway as highly risky. Authorities believe the restriction will help ensure the safety of road users.
