Direct transportation services along the Beni–Darbang road, a major route linking western Myagdi with the district headquarters, have been disrupted.
On Monday afternoon, a dry landslide from above the road at Khaharekhola in Mangala Rural Municipality–2 blocked the road section, according to the District Police Office, Myagdi. Efforts are underway to clear the debris.
Police said the landslide is massive, making the clearance process difficult. Landslides have been occurring in the area since last year, and this time the slide also brought down electricity poles.
Local transport entrepreneur Kamal Fagami said passengers and transport operators have been facing severe difficulties due to the disruption. Residents of Myagdi suffer similar hardships every year because of recurring landslides at Bangey and Faparkhet along the Beni–Darbang road.
