Kathmandu, Aug 5: The Armed Police Force (APF) Nepal has recommended promotions for 77 officers based on seniority, performance evaluations, and professional competence.
According to APF DSP and spokesperson Shailendra Thapa, six officers have been recommended for promotion to the post of Senior Superintendent of Armed Police (SSP), 22 to Superintendent of Armed Police (SP), one to Technical Superintendent of Armed Police, and 48 to Deputy Superintendent of Armed Police (DSP). The recommendations were made on Monday.
Thapa stated that the promotion process prioritized seniority, professional ability, and work performance. He expressed confidence that the promotions will enhance both organizational growth and the morale of the security force.
Those recommended for SSP were previously promoted to SP under the first phase of the second batch. The SP-level promotions include candidates from the third batch, alternate groups within the same batch, and the fourth batch — all selected based on seniority, competence, and performance. Meanwhile, the newly recommended DSPs are from the ninth batch of officers.
The APF headquarters had issued a notice on Asar 32, inviting eligible officers to apply for promotion to SSP, SP, Technical SP, and DSP posts within 15 days.
Applicants were required to submit promotion evaluation forms along with academic and other necessary documents to the Secretariat of the Promotion Committee for review.
