
Kathmandu, Aug 5: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that the country is currently experiencing the effects of active monsoon winds, with the monsoon trough located north of its average position.
According to the department, most parts of the country will remain generally cloudy on Tuesday afternoon. Moderate rainfall is likely in many areas of Koshi and Madhesh provinces, as well as several other regions.
Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in some parts of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces, with isolated heavy showers also forecast for a few areas in Bagmati and Gandaki provinces.
For Tuesday night, the department predicts widespread cloud cover across the country. Moderate rain is expected in many places of Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, along with a few locations in other provinces.
Some areas in Lumbini and Sudurpaschim may also witness heavy to very heavy rainfall during the night.
The department has advised the public to remain alert for possible flooding, landslides, and waterlogging in vulnerable areas.
