The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has stated that the monsoon trough is currently positioned south of its average location, and the weather will remain generally cloudy across the country on Friday afternoon.
There is a possibility of moderate rainfall in Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as in some hilly and Tarai areas. Similarly, the weather will remain generally cloudy across the country tonight, with moderate rainfall likely in some areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Sudurpaschim provinces.
Heavy rainfall is possible at one or two places in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.
The department has projected risks of landslides and debris flows, rising water levels in rivers and streams, and possible impacts on transportation, urging all to remain cautious and prepared.
