
Indra Bahadur Baniya, leader of the Nepali Congress parliamentary party in Bagmati Province, has been appointed as the Chief Minister of Bagmati Province.
Province Chief Deepak Prasad Devkota appointed Baniya on Tuesday in accordance with Article 168(2) of the Constitution. On Monday, Baniya had submitted his claim to the Province Chief with the support of 64 provincial assembly members from the Nepali Congress and CPN-UML.
According to the Office of the Province Chief, Chief Minister Baniya is scheduled to take the oath of office this evening.
