Following escalating Gen Z protests, the District Administration Office, Tanahun, has imposed a prohibitory order in the district headquarters, Damauli.
The order, issued by Chief District Officer Ram Krishna Adhikari, prohibits gatherings of more than five people and will remain in effect from 10 a.m. Tuesday until further notice, considering potential unrest, demonstrations, mobs, or clashes that could affect public peace and security.
The order specifically bans sit-ins, protests, rallies, demonstrations, and assemblies. The restricted areas include:
- East: Nepal Red Cross Society, Tanahun District Branch
- North: From Tanahun Chamber of Commerce hall to the administration gate
- From Veterinary and Animal Service Center to the Provincial Public Health Office entrance road
- West: Maharshi Ved Vyasa School
- South: Vyas Ashram
The administration has warned that anyone violating or obstructing the order will face legal action under prevailing laws. The prohibitory order aims to temporarily restrict public gatherings and protest activities to ensure local peace and security.
