Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has issued a notice directing banks, financial institutions, and payment system operators to continue their operations with limited staff.
According to the notice, institutions handling banking and payment services must ensure business continuity by mobilizing a small number of employees in line with the directives of the Ministry of Defense and the Nepal Army’s statement on movement restrictions. Essential banking and digital payment services are to be kept operational.
For other systems, NRB has instructed institutions to manage operations through remote access based on risk assessments. Additionally, operational branches, ATMs, and available services should be regularly updated on official websites and social media for public information.
