
The identities of two women found dead at separate locations in Tanahun remain unknown.
On Bhadra 25, a body was recovered from the banks of the Seti River at Bisa Ghare, Deuralinagar, Byas Municipality–3, and on Bhadra 23, another woman was found under the concrete bridge along the Dihi–Rani road over the Buldi stream at Byas Municipality–1, Talghare, according to police.
District Police Office Tanahun spokesperson Ashok Thapa said the names, surnames, and places of origin of the deceased women have not yet been identified.
The woman found in Deuralinagar is estimated to be around 55–60 years old, about 4 feet 8 inches tall, with Mongoloid facial features, wheatish complexion, and graying hair. Locals had informed the police after spotting the body. Police documented the scene and kept the body at Gandaki Province Hospital, Damauli, for postmortem.
Earlier, on Bhadra 23, another woman—approximately 35 years old—was found drowning in the Buldi stream under the Talghare bridge. She was rescued and rushed to Gandaki Province Hospital, Tanahun, but died during treatment. She was wearing a purple T-shirt with a white and brown doll print on the front and was about 5 feet 2 inches tall, police said.
Both bodies are currently kept at the hospital morgue in Damauli.
As neither of the women has been identified so far, DSP Thapa urged the public to contact the District Police Office Tanahun or the nearest police office if anyone recognizes them from the given descriptions. Police said further investigation is ongoing.
