
The Election Commission has stated that it is fully prepared to hold elections on the scheduled date. Chief Election Commissioner Ram Prasad Bhandari told Nepal Khabar on Saturday morning that the commission is ready to conduct the polls.
“We are always ready to hold elections,” he said. “Once the Council of Ministers finalizes its decisions, there will be concrete discussions on this matter. From our side, preparations can begin immediately.”
Following the appointment of former Chief Justice Sushila Karki as the interim Prime Minister, the President, on her recommendation, dissolved the House of Representatives and announced elections for Falgun 21.
Karki was appointed Prime Minister on Friday with the mandate to conduct elections within six months. Meanwhile, preparations for the expansion of the Council of Ministers are currently underway.
