Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane has announced that he is returning to prison, expressing hope that he will no longer face injustice.
In a video message released on Saturday, his birthday, Lamichhane voiced trust in the newly appointed prime minister and said he was ready to face judicial proceedings regarding the cases filed against him.
He also presented a five-point demand to the interim government, urging it to address the country’s grave political situation.
Recalling his 30 years of public life, Lamichhane accused the previous government of subjecting him to extreme political retaliation.
“Today, the symbol of justice herself has become the prime minister. With the hope that injustice will end, I am heading back to prison,” he said. “Whether a person with no ties to cooperatives should be charged with organized crime and money laundering is a matter I now leave to the conscience of the new government.”
