Sumana Shrestha, leader of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSWP), has announced her departure from the party. The party secretariat shared the news via social media, noting that Shrestha had long been dissatisfied within the party.
She cited three main reasons for leaving: being subjected to media trials, the party ignoring her concerns, and the lack of a conducive working environment within the party.
Shrestha stated, “Never admitting mistakes, repeatedly making mistakes and expecting everyone to bear the burden, and conducting media trials against those who criticize—these practices have made me speak out since the party started prioritizing itself over the country and leaders over the party. Yet, nothing changed. Media trials intensified, which is unacceptable. I’ve now made it easier for them to openly attack me. Let them do as they please. QUIT—I have left the party.”
