
Newly appointed Finance Minister Rameshwor Khanal has decided not to take any salary, allowance, or government perks as a minister.
Prime Minister Sushila Karki recommended former Finance Secretary Khanal for the Finance Minister’s post to the President. The swearing-in ceremony of the new ministers is scheduled for 11 a.m. today.
According to sources, Khanal has decided to forgo all ministerial benefits, including salary, official residence, and government vehicle.
A source stated, “He has taken a stand to prioritize service to the nation and the people over personal benefits. Even when he served as an economic advisor to then Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai, he worked without taking any perks.”
