A landslide has blocked the Mahakali Highway. According to local resident Sher Singh Karki, a landslide occurred this morning at Sajadhar in Dogadakedar-5, Baitadi, which lies along the highway.
He said, “A large landslide has come down from above the road after the rainfall. Traffic is completely blocked.” The highway closure has disrupted road connections between Mahendranagar, Dhangadhi, Kathmandu, and local district headquarters. Many passengers are stranded midway.
Meanwhile, the previously blocked Jay Prithvi Highway has reopened. Inspector Balram Pandey of the district police reported that the road section at Musyakhan on the Khodpe-Bajhang route, which was blocked due to a landslide, is now operational.
