Six senior leaders of the Janamat Party, including Senior Vice-Chair Abdul Khan, have tendered a collective resignation, demanding a change in party leadership.
Alongside Khan, Central Spokesperson Dr. Sharad Singh Yadav, Central Coordinator Kumar Yadav, leader S.K. Singh, Sudurpaschim Province In-Charge Rajaram Chaudhary, and Central Committee Member Bikrambahadur Bam have resigned from both their posts and party membership.
Khan, a former Member of the dissolved House of Representatives, and the group had earlier issued a 24-hour ultimatum for party chair Dr. Chandra Kant Raut and Organizational Department head Dr. Jay Kant Raut to step down voluntarily.
As their demand went unmet, the leaders announced their resignation, with spokesperson Yadav confirming that they would no longer remain even as general members.
Their resignation letter accused the leadership of ignoring calls for accountability amid the nation’s crisis. “By dismissing our resignation demand with arrogance through your official Facebook page, you have insulted the blood shed by Gen-Z protesters. Therefore, from today, we resign from all party responsibilities and membership,” the letter stated.
