On September 9 (Bhadra 24), during the GenZ movement, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and his wife were attacked at their residence in Budhanilkantha. The couple is currently undergoing treatment. Despite this, President Deuba issued a statement on Constitution Day, extending his best wishes.
That same day, protesters also set fire to the Nepali Congress central office building. For the first time since the incident, the party held its Central Working Committee meeting inside the charred building. The Congress has announced that it will hold a press conference at 2 PM today to share the decisions of the meeting.
