The Muglin–Narayangadh highway remains obstructed and is expected to stay closed for at least four more hours as continuous landslides near the Tuiun Khola bridge hinder clearance work, according to the Bharatpur Road Division.
The road has been blocked since around 6:30 p.m. yesterday when a major landslide occurred, followed by persistent smaller slides throughout the night. Another large landslide struck at 7:40 a.m. today, further complicating efforts to reopen the route.
Three loaders and one excavator have been deployed from both sides to remove the debris, while another excavator is on its way from the Muglin side. “Rocks are still falling, making it difficult to clear the road. If the landslide activity stops, traffic movement could resume within at least four hours,” said the Road Division.
The landslide has buried roughly 100 meters of the road, forcing travelers to remain stranded since last evening. Many passengers spent the night on the highway after vehicles were halted in both directions. The affected section lies about 2.5 kilometers from Muglin toward Narayangadh.
Authorities have advised motorists and passengers to use alternative routes until the road is fully cleared and safe for travel.
