The Narayangadh–Muglin road section has been blocked once more after a fresh landslide occurred at Tuiun Khola last night.
According to the Chitwan District Traffic Police Office, the road, which had reopened partially at 4 PM on Sunday after being cleared for 45 hours, was again blocked at 8 PM when another landslide struck the same location.
Chitwan Traffic Police Chief Gayatri Sharma said that continuous landslides after 8 PM made it impossible to clear the debris. Considering the high risk during nighttime, the administration had issued a notice restricting travel from 9 PM to 5 AM, but the road was already blocked before the restriction took effect.
The same area had experienced a landslide on Friday evening, causing a 45-hour closure before partial resumption. This highway is a key route where over 10,000 vehicles travel daily. The District Administration Office has urged travelers to use alternative routes until further notice.
While some passengers stranded for the past two days managed to reach their destinations earlier, many others remain stuck following the new landslide.
