According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the influence of the monsoon is gradually weakening across the country, though partial effects of local winds remain, leading to chances of rainfall in some areas.
This afternoon (Thursday), generally cloudy conditions are expected over the hilly regions of the country, while the rest of the areas will experience partly cloudy skies. There is a possibility of moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning in some parts of the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as in a few places of the hilly regions of Lumbini and Karnali provinces. In particular, one or two areas of the hilly regions of Koshi and Bagmati provinces may experience heavy rainfall.
Tonight, the hilly regions will remain partly cloudy, while most other areas are expected to have generally clear weather. However, the department forecasts chances of moderate rainfall at a few locations in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and at one or two locations in the remaining hilly areas.
