Prime Minister Sushila Karki is scheduled to address the nation at 6:00 PM today. According to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, a cabinet meeting will be held at 4:00 PM, after which Prime Minister Karki will deliver her address.
This will be the first address to the nation by former Chief Justice Karki, who assumed leadership of the interim government formed after the “Gen Z” movement. Appointed as Prime Minister on Bhadra 27, Karki took charge of the interim government in the wake of the movement that took place on Bhadra 23 and 24.
The interim government under Prime Minister Karki has dissolved the House of Representatives and announced the date for the upcoming general election on Falgun 21. Having recently expanded the cabinet for the third time, the main responsibility of this government is to conduct a free and fair election within the next six months.
