The Narayangadh–Muglin road, which had been closed since Tuesday, has reopened for one-way traffic. After clearing the landslide that had fallen near Tuin Khola close to Muglin, the road was brought back into operation at around 10:30 PM last night.
Although the road was initially opened for two-way traffic, a large boulder fell again, forcing authorities to allow only one-way movement, according to Muglin police.
With the reopening, hundreds of stranded vehicles have started moving toward their destinations. However, alternating vehicle movement has caused long traffic jams. Police have urged drivers to exercise extra caution and strictly follow lane discipline, as the risk of further landslides remains.
More than 10,000 vehicles travel daily along the Muglin–Narayangadh route. Meanwhile, traffic police reported that other main highways connecting to Kathmandu are currently operating without disruption.
