Dr. Prabhat Adhikari, a founding central member of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), resigned from his post on Friday. His departure comes amid a growing wave of resignations within the party in recent days.
Earlier this week, lawmaker Sumana Shrestha and central member Hari Bhatt also stepped down, prompting the party’s central committee to hold a two-day meeting to discuss ways to retain or bring back departing members.
The resignations follow increasing internal dissatisfaction over party president Rabi Lamichhane’s controversial escape from prison during the Gen Z movement, which has sparked intense debate and discontent among party leaders and members.
