Medical professional Durga Prasai has claimed that the Chief of the Nepal Army, General Ashok Raj Sikdel, offered him the position of Prime Minister. Speaking at a program in Jhapa, where he was welcomed after arriving from Kathmandu, Prasai said the offer came following the Gen-Z movement.
He stated that he declined the proposal, questioning the army chief about the political scenario: “I asked, ‘What next, sir? After this government fails, who will lead? In the cards are Dahal, Gulam, Missi, Bassa, and Ekka. If Missi and Bassa are present, why use Ekka?’”
Referring to himself as “Ekka,” Prasai claimed that he is the ultimate authority in the current political landscape. He further asserted that if he becomes Prime Minister, debts under 2 million rupees should be waived and his agenda implemented.
Prasai also emphasized that the nation needs a Prime Minister who can visit the homes of the poor and eat simple meals like gundruk and rice without a bodyguard, claiming he is that leader.
