Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has declared that he is no longer the chairperson of the CPN (Maoist Centre).
Speaking to journalists on Friday after concluding the party’s two-day Central Committee meeting, he stated that he now holds the role of coordinator instead of chair.
“We have successfully concluded the Central Committee meeting today. I am no longer the chairperson; I am now the coordinator,” Prachanda said.
He also mentioned that he was unaware of any reported government investigation regarding their passports.
During the two-day meeting held on Thursday and Friday, voices had been raised within the party calling for Prachanda to step down from the chairmanship.
