
Nepal has been given the chance to bat first in the opening match of the three-game Unity Cup International T20 series against West Indies. The match is being played at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), where two-time World Cup winners West Indies won the toss and opted to bowl.
The second match of the series will be held on October 29 (Ashoj 13) and the third on October 30 (Ashoj 14). After completing this series, the Nepali team will travel to Oman to compete in the ICC T20 World Cup Asia and East Asia Pacific Qualifiers. The Unity Cup serves as crucial preparation for the upcoming qualifiers.
The Nepali squad, led by captain Rohit Paudel, includes vice-captain Dipendra Singh Airee, Sandeep Lamichhane, Sompal Kami, Kushal Bhurtel, Lokesh Bam, Kushal Malla, and Aasif Sheikh. Other members are Adil Alam, Karan KC, Nandan Yadav, Sandeep Jora, Arif Sheikh, Lalit Narayan Rajbanshi, Gulshan Jha, and Sahab Alam.
The West Indies team, captained by Akeal Hosein, features Fabian Allen, Javel Andrew, Akeem Auguste, Navin Bidaise, Jediah Blades, Keacy Carty, Karima Gore, and Jason Holder, along with Amir Jangoo, Kyle Mayers, Obed McCoy, Jishan Motara, Ramon Simmonds, and Shamar Springer.
