Former King Gyanendra Shah has announced that he will not be giving Tika to the general public this Dashain.
In a message of goodwill, he stated that due to the nation going through a period of mourning and destruction, the festival will be celebrated only within family and cultural boundaries.
He said, “We would like to inform our well-wishing citizens that, unlike in previous years, we will not be offering Tika and Jamara on a large scale.”
The former king emphasized the need to adopt modern technology, scientific expertise, and the changing global order for the nation’s progress and development.
He also highlighted the importance of addressing public sentiment in state governance and making timely reforms in accordance with changing times.
