As of this morning, long-distance vehicles from Kathmandu are still prohibited from traveling outside the valley. Although the situation within the Kathmandu Valley is relatively normal, roads leading out of the valley have not yet returned to safe conditions, prompting the continued restriction.
SP Naresh Raj Subedi, spokesperson for the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, stated that no long-distance vehicles have been allowed to depart from any checkpoints in Kathmandu today. Ticket bookings for travelers have also been temporarily halted.
Passengers who had already purchased bus tickets have been refunded, SP Subedi confirmed. Due to heavy rain, floods, and landslides, the government had decided to restrict vehicular movement to and from the Kathmandu Valley on Ashoj 18, 19, and 20, advising travelers to cancel or return any booked tickets.
