Following continuous rainfall, landslides in Ilam have resulted in the deaths of two people, while more than 15 others are missing. Several areas in Ilam have been affected by landslides triggered by the heavy rain.
In Ilam Municipality–6, Ghos, the house of Dambar Bahadur Pakhrin was buried by a landslide, killing two people and leaving three others missing. Two injured individuals have been taken to the hospital, according to police.
In Maijogmai Rural Municipality–6, five members of Barmalal Sogmi’s family are missing, and another five people are missing in Mansebung. In Shandakpur Rural Municipality–3, a mother and daughter from Sulubung are also reported missing due to landslides.
The district has suffered significant damage from floods and landslides. Police reported that rescue operations have been intensified as soon as the rain subsided.
