Minister for Communication and Information Technology Jagadish Kharel has said that the main mandate of the current government, formed on the foundation of the Gen-Z movement, is to conduct the House of Representatives election within the stipulated time with the participation of all political parties and the people.
During his visit to the central office of the National News Agency (RSS) in Bhadrakali today, Minister Kharel urged everyone to help create a conducive environment for the upcoming election scheduled for Falgun 21.
He clarified that Prime Minister Sushila Karki has already expressed the government’s commitment to holding the elections and expressed confidence that the media sector would play an important role in fostering a favorable environment.
“This government was formed on the foundation of the Gen-Z movement, with the support and aspirations of all political parties and the people. The Election Commission has already published the election schedule. I believe RSS will also play its part in building the election atmosphere,” said Kharel, who also serves as the government spokesperson.
Minister Kharel added that the government’s mandate includes not only holding the elections but also ensuring good governance, eradicating corruption, investigating and taking action over the loss of lives and property during the Gen-Z movement, and providing relief and rehabilitation in the aftermath of natural disasters.
He further stated that the government is in ongoing direct and indirect dialogue with political parties to create a conducive environment for the upcoming elections.
