Kavrepalanchok — Continuous rainfall on Ashoj 18 and 19 caused floods in the Roshi River, severely damaging the BP Highway and making even pedestrian movement extremely difficult.
In the Roshi area of Kavrepalanchok, parts of the highway were swept away by floods and landslides, halting vehicular movement. For the past three days, travelers have been forced to walk along riverbanks, streams, and steep slopes to reach their destinations.
The Bhakunde–Nepalthok section of the highway has suffered significant damage and remains completely blocked. With both the main and rural roads disrupted, people traveling home for Dashain from areas like Dandapari via Chauki Danda have been compelled to walk for hours.
Locals from Namobuddha Municipality and the rural municipalities of Roshi, Temal, Mahabharat, Khanikhola, and Sindhuli’s Sunkoshi and Ghyanglek areas are undertaking arduous journeys on foot. However, transportation is still operating between Dhulikhel and Chauki Danda sections of the highway.
