CPN-UML Chair KP Sharma Oli has complained about his passport being blocked and restrictions on leaving the Kathmandu Valley, saying he is not afraid of Prime Minister Sushila Karki.
Speaking at an event in Bhaktapur, Oli warned Home Minister Omprakash Aryal not to make threats about arresting him or to provoke him. He said running the country is not a joking matter and urged caution.
Oli criticized those making a spectacle in the streets instead of addressing the issues, saying, “They say my passport is blocked. I’m not allowed to go to the hills. Does Sushila Karki think KP Oli will run away out of fear? I may not know the current home minister personally, but I want to advise him not to be overly provocative or arrogant. Governing a country is not a game.”
He also warned against humiliating his party and said the UML is ready to sacrifice for the nation’s dignity. “We have endured jail and suffering; this is not new to us,” he said. “We are ready to sacrifice for the country’s pride — there’s no need to taunt us. We brought governance in the name of the people; we have fought and fallen for it.”
