The Central Secretariat meeting of the CPN-UML is being held again today at 11 a.m. at party chairman KP Sharma Oli’s residence in Balkot, Bhaktapur.
During Friday’s session, eight office bearers expressed their views. Vice Chairpersons Asta Laxmi Shakya and Yubaraj Gyawali suggested that Chairman Oli should step down from the leadership.
Meanwhile, Vice Chairpersons Bishnu Poudel and Ram Bahadur Thapa (Badal), along with other leaders, emphasized the need to rectify the decision regarding Bidya Bhandari’s party membership.
On the other hand, General Secretary Shankar Pokharel and Deputy General Secretary Pradeep Gyawali argued that the party must stand by its leadership during this time of crisis.
Today’s meeting will continue with the remaining leaders presenting their opinions, after which a final decision is expected.
Deputy General Secretary Gyawali also mentioned that a proposal related to the upcoming General Convention will be discussed in today’s meeting.
