The Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has reduced the transaction limits for debit card withdrawals made through ATMs. According to a new directive issued on Friday, the withdrawal limits have been cut by 20 to 50 percent.
Previously, customers could withdraw up to Rs. 25,000 per transaction, Rs. 100,000 per day, and Rs. 400,000 per month using debit cards. Under the new rule, the limits have been revised to:
- Rs. 20,000 per transaction
- Rs. 50,000 per day
- Rs. 300,000 per month
The limits for prepaid cards issued by banks and financial institutions remain unchanged, allowing up to Rs. 10,000 per transaction, Rs. 20,000 per day, and Rs. 200,000 per month.
Similarly, there is no change in the credit card transaction limits. For prepaid cards issued by non-banking service providers, the existing limits of Rs. 5,000 per day and Rs. 25,000 per month also remain the same.
