Nepali Congress General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa has urged the nation to bid farewell to the country’s three senior political leaders in order to restore a healthy environment for political dialogue within the party and across the country.
In a video message released today, Thapa criticized the “musical chair” politics played over the past decade by Sher Bahadur Deuba, KP Sharma Oli, and Pushpa Kamal Dahal, stressing the need to create a new atmosphere for national dialogue and cooperation.
Thapa noted that “Nepal after Bhadra 25, 2082 (September 10, 2025) is not the same as before Bhadra 22,” implying a significant political shift in the country.
Addressing questions from party members who accused Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba of lacking empathy, Thapa acknowledged that he had indeed shown concern. He recalled that he and fellow General Secretary Bishwo Prakash Sharma had issued a joint statement condemning the attack on Deuba on Bhadra 25, reiterating their firm opposition to any form of physical violence.
Thapa concluded by urging all political leaders to prioritize dialogue, collaboration, and adherence to constitutional processes in order to ensure political stability and progress in Nepal.
