The CPN-UML has concluded that the dissolution of the House of Representatives is unconstitutional and has decided to move the court demanding its reinstatement.
According to the decision made at the Central Secretariat meeting held on Sunday evening, the party will approach the court, asserting that the dissolution goes against the constitution and that the dissolved House should be restored.
A senior party official stated that the dissolution of the House was unconstitutional and that the party would go to court to correct the move and revive the democratically elected institution.
Additionally, UML has also decided to launch a street protest against the government led by Sushila Karki immediately after the upcoming Central Committee meeting.
Following the meeting, UML Deputy General Secretary Pradeep Gyawali said that the party will organize mass mobilization programs after the Central Committee meeting, which is scheduled to be held from October 29 to 31. The Secretariat meeting has decided to begin the protest movement right after that.
