The Central Working Committee meeting of the Nepali Congress is set to begin shortly, with heightened attention as Party President Sher Bahadur Deuba is expected to make his first public appearance since being seriously injured in an attack at his residence by GenZ protestors.
In anticipation of Deuba’s presence, tight security arrangements have been implemented at the party’s central office. Alongside police personnel, members of the party’s youth wing, Tarun Dal, and student wing, Nepal Student Union (NSU), are actively engaged in maintaining security at the venue.
Reports suggest that several party leaders are preparing to pressurize Deuba during the meeting to step down from his position and ensure the timely organization of the party’s general convention.
The meeting will be attended by Central Committee office bearers, members, invited representatives, and provincial presidents from all seven provinces.
