
Two young girls have gone missing after drowning in the Mahakali River on Sunday afternoon while bathing. The incident took place at Airi, Bhimdatta Municipality–11 in Kanchanpur.
According to the Kanchanpur District Police Office, the missing girls have been identified as around 7-year-old Jivita Pant and 8-year-old Panvi Pant of Bhimdatta Municipality–11. District Police Office spokesperson, Deputy Superintendent of Police Sagar Bohara, said they went missing while bathing in the river with their elder brother on Friday afternoon.
Police said the girls disappeared while bathing at the border area between Bhimdatta Municipality Wards 11 and 12. Search efforts are underway, with Nepal Police, Nepal Army, Armed Police Force, and local residents involved in the operation.
