
The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index witnessed a decline of 19.43 points on Tuesday, closing at 2,528.16 points. This comes after the market had surged by 44.25 points on the previous trading day, Monday.
Other key indices also saw a drop:
- Sensitive Index fell by 4.60 points
- Float Index dropped by 1.80 points
- Sensitive Float Index decreased by 1.71 points
Decline in Turnover
Along with the index, overall market turnover also declined today. While the market had recorded a turnover of around NPR 5 billion on Monday, today’s trading saw:
- 317 stocks traded
- 38,827 transactions
- 7.48 million shares exchanged
- Total turnover of approximately NPR 3.36 billion
Circuit Hits and Notable Gainers
Two companies hit the positive circuit breaker today:
- Shubham Power Ltd.
- Grameen Bikas Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha
Other notable gainers include:
- Crest Micro Life Insurance, with a gain of nearly 6%
- Bindhyabasini Hydropower Development Co., up by about 5.5%
Top Loser
- Samaj Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha recorded the highest loss, with its share price declining by 10%.
Top Companies by Turnover
- Nepal Reinsurance Company topped the list with a turnover of NPR 320.7 million
- Himalayan Reinsurance followed with over NPR 160 million
- CEDB Hydropower Development Company Ltd. also saw significant trading with more than NPR 120 million in turnover

- 3 subgroups gained, and 10 declined
- The Trade subgroup led the gainers with a rise of 1.48%
- Slight increases were also observed in the Others and Mutual Fund subgroups
- Subgroups such as Development Banks, Finance, Hotels & Tourism, Hydropower, Investment, and Non-life Insurance dropped by more than 1%
