
Sahara Club Pokhara has been eliminated from the ongoing 3rd International Invitational Taplejung Gold Cup in Phungling, Taplejung.
In Sunday’s second quarterfinal match, Sahara Pokhara lost 2–0 to Jhapa’s Red Star Football Club. For Jhapa, Sabin Limbu scored in the 77th minute and again during second-half injury time. With this win, Jhapa secured a place in the semifinals, where they will face the winner between Siraha and Panchthar.
On Monday, teams from India and Kathmandu will compete.
The tournament features participation from one team from India and prestigious clubs from four provinces of Nepal. The final match is scheduled for Shrawan 31.
The champion will receive NPR 702,082 in cash along with a trophy, medals, and certificates, while the runner-up will be awarded NPR 350,082 along with a trophy, medals, and certificates. The best player of the tournament will also win a motorcycle.
