The Central Committee meeting of the CPN-UML is continuing for the third consecutive day today (Friday). The meeting, which began on Wednesday, is allowing central members to present their views on the political report submitted by party chair KP Sharma Oli, according to Rajendra Gautam, Chief of the UML Publicity Department.
The meeting started at 8:00 AM this morning. So far, 184 out of 360 central members have shared their opinions — 50 members on the first day and 134 on the second day, Gautam informed.
During the discussions, many members emphasized the need to restore the House of Representatives to safeguard the constitution and people’s rights. They also stressed the importance of uniting democratic forces and taking them to a decisive level.
Some members expressed the view that the party leadership should be finalized through the upcoming general convention, and that former President Bidya Devi Bhandari’s party membership should not be suspended.
Each central member has been allotted three minutes to speak, and those requiring more time have been asked to submit their remarks in writing.
The party has proposed to hold its 11th General Convention in Pokhara from Mangsir 27 to 29 (December 12–14, 2025). The ongoing UML Central Committee meeting is expected to conclude today.
