Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has urged banks and financial institutions to continue providing banking services during the Tihar festival holidays, except on the day of Bhai Tika.
The central bank issued a circular to category ‘A’, ‘B’, and ‘C’ banks and financial institutions, requesting them to operate necessary services to support customs clearance, trade facilitation, and supply management during the holiday period.
In addition, NRB has announced that the Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) system will remain operational today (Saturday) from 10 AM to 4 PM, ensuring smooth large-value interbank transactions.
NRB emphasized that the move aims to keep essential economic and commercial activities functioning even during the festive period.
