The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a corruption case against former secretary Dr. Sangita Mishra at the Special Court.
According to CIAA sources, the case has been filed based on irregularities related to procurement during her tenure as the Director General of the Department of Health Services. Dr. Mishra was recently rumored to be appointed Minister of Health under the Gen-Z government a few weeks ago.
The CIAA stated that the registration process of the case is underway at the Special Court.
After the government decided not to appoint her as Health Secretary and instead appointed Dr. Bikash Devkota to the position, Dr. Mishra had taken leave from her duties.
Although her name had been widely discussed for the position of Minister of Health after the formation of the Gen-Z government, she resigned after learning that the CIAA’s investigation against her had reached its final stage.
