The Nepali Congress has expressed sorrow and paid tribute to Bipin Joshi of Kanchanpur, who lost his life during the Hamas attack in October 2023 while studying in Israel.
On Tuesday, Joshi was cremated with national honors at Bhujelaghat on the Mahakali River. Following the funeral, the Nepali Congress offered heartfelt condolences to him. Acting President of the Nepali Congress, Purna Bahadur Khadka, expressed deep grief over Joshi’s death.
He said, “There was great hope and belief among the people of Nepal that Bipin Joshi, who was taken hostage during the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023, would be safely released. However, contrary to that hope, Israeli authorities confirmed his death on October 13. His body has now been brought back to Nepal and cremated. The whole nation is in mourning. In this moment of grief, I offer heartfelt tribute to Bipin Joshi. I also express my deepest condolences to the bereaved family on behalf of the party and myself, praying for the eternal peace of his soul.”
Bipin had reached Israel two years ago under the “Learn and Earn” program of Far Western University for his studies.
