Three people drowned during the immersion of a Durga idol in Rupandehi. The incident took place on Wednesday at Suryapuraghat in Ward No. 6 of Gaidahwa Rural Municipality.
The deceased have been identified as 13-year-old Ajay Harijan, 15-year-old Deepu Harijan, and 28-year-old Rohit Harijan, all residents of Ward No. 1 of Mayadevi Rural Municipality.
According to Rupandehi Police Spokesperson Suraj Karki, the bodies were recovered after police and locals conducted a search operation following reports of their disappearance. He said the bodies were found around 200 meters downstream.
