Police have arrested a Chinese citizen and a Nepali woman from Swayambhu in Kathmandu with undeclared cash amounting to Rs 6.98 million.
According to Dan Bahadur Karki, Additional Inspector General (AIG) and chief of the Kathmandu Valley Police Office, Ranipokhari, 38-year-old Chinese national Xiao Yang and 22-year-old Rozina Sunar from Nilkantha Municipality, Dhading, were arrested on Thursday and made public today.
“We have arrested two individuals — one Chinese and one Nepali — with a large amount of money whose source they failed to disclose. Further investigation is underway,” AIG Karki said.
Police also recovered gold ornaments from the room they were renting. Further details about the case are being investigated.
