Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and his wife, as well as party central member Arju Rana Deuba, are set to travel to Singapore for further medical treatment.
Earlier, on Bhadra 24, during the Gen Z protest, demonstrators attacked President Deuba and then-Foreign Minister Arju Rana at their residence in Budhanilkantha.
- Deuba sustained injuries to his neck and head, while
- Arju Rana was physically assaulted.
On the same day, the Nepali Army rescued them and provided initial treatment.
It has been reported that Deuba will leave for Singapore tonight at 9 PM with his wife Arju Rana for additional treatment.
After the Gen Z movement, Deuba had not appeared publicly but was seen at the party’s central office on Bhadra 28. On that day, he appointed Deputy Chairman Purna Bahadur Khadka as acting president.
