Light to Moderate Snowfall and Rain Likely from Tonight Due to Western Winds
The influence of western winds along with a low-pressure system formed over the Arabian Sea is likely to bring light to moderate snowfall and rainfall starting tonight, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.
The Weather Forecasting Division stated that light to moderate snowfall and rain are expected from the night of Kartik 10 until the morning of Kartik 12.
As per the division, light to moderate snowfall and rainfall are likely in some areas of Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali Provinces, and in a few hilly and mountainous regions of the remaining provinces.
Additionally, heavy snowfall is expected at one or two places in the high hills and mountainous regions of Gandaki Province. The division has urged the public to take necessary precautions, as the possible snowfall and rainfall may affect daily life, mountaineering, as well as the agriculture and tourism sectors.
The Weather Forecasting Division said it is continuously monitoring the system and will provide regular updates accordingly.
