
The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that the monsoon trough is positioned further north than its average location, lying close to Nepal. As a result, the weather is expected to remain mostly cloudy nationwide on Tuesday.
This morning, moderate rainfall has been observed in some areas of Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim Provinces, as well as at one or two locations in Koshi, Madhesh, and Bagmati Provinces.
For this afternoon, skies are forecast to remain generally cloudy across the country. Moderate rain is likely in many hilly areas and at a few locations in the plains of Madhesh Province and other Tarai regions. Heavy rainfall is also possible in one or two places in the hilly areas of Koshi Province.
Tonight, the weather will remain mostly cloudy throughout Nepal. Moderate rainfall is expected in many hilly and Tarai locations of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini Provinces, as well as in a few areas of the remaining provinces. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely in some hilly and Tarai parts of Madhesh, Koshi, and Bagmati Provinces, while one or two locations in the hilly and Tarai areas of Gandaki Province and the Tarai of Lumbini Province may also experience heavy rain.
The department has warned that the possibility of heavy rainfall in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini Provinces could affect daily life, public health, road transportation, and air travel. Residents are advised to take necessary precautions.
