The preparation for the Ramleela Mahayagya scheduled to begin from Kartik 17 (November 2) in Dogadakedar Rural Municipality, Baitadi has reached its final stage. The cultural event is being organized by the Dogadakedar Cultural Society and will be staged at the premises of Shrikot Multipurpose Campus.
According to Dan Singh Karki, member of the Cultural Society and chief of Shrikot Multipurpose Campus, preparations have intensified. He informed that training for artists performing in the Ramleela drama is underway along with other management arrangements.
He said, “The Ramleela has been organized to preserve religious culture, instill discipline in the young generation, and share the life story of Lord Ram with today’s youth. Since the play is based on the life of Maryada Purushottam Lord Ram, it also teaches lessons about Sanatan Dharma and truth.”
The Ramleela Mahayagya will continue until Kartik 27 (November 13), and donations collected during the event will be spent on social and cultural activities, he added.
A main management committee has been formed under the coordination of Raj Bahadur Karki to successfully conduct the event, informed Mohan Singh Karki, chairman of the Cultural Society. “Various sub-committees have been formed to organize the Ramleela in a grand and dignified manner. Training for the artists performing in the play is already in progress,” he said.
Chairman of Dogadakedar Rural Municipality, Chakra Bahadur Karki, said that the event is expected to promote cultural values, discourage social evils, and inspire people to build strong moral character like Lord Ram. “The Ramleela Mahayagya will help spread a positive message in society – that good deeds bring positive results,” he added.
Organizing committee member and Student Union President of Shrikot Campus, Naveen Kapadi, has invited all devotees, cultural enthusiasts, and local residents to attend the program and join hands in preserving religion and culture.
