Prime Minister Sushila Karki has expressed concern over misleading media reports claiming that Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balen Shah has been pressuring her to remove Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal.
In a press release issued today by the Prime Minister’s Chief Personal Secretary, Adarsh Kumar Shrestha, it was stated that appointing or removing any minister is solely within the Prime Minister’s constitutional authority and cannot be influenced by external pressure.
“The current government was formed in line with the public mandate expressed through the Gen-Z movement. Home Minister Aryal, who assumed office during this extraordinary period, has been working tirelessly to maintain law and order, boost the morale of security agencies, and ensure a conducive environment for the upcoming elections,” the statement read.
The Prime Minister’s Office also urged all concerned parties not to spread or believe such rumors during this sensitive time.
